András Imrényi

András Imrényi

Since September 2019, András Imrényi has worked as associate professor at Eszterházy Károly University, Eger. Previously, he worked at Jagiellonian University, Krakow (2012–2016) and at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest (2010–2012, 2016–2019). His main research field is the description of Hungarian sentence structure by a combination of assumptions from cognitive linguistics and dependency grammar. He authored the chapter on clause structure in the first comprehensive cognitive linguistic reference book on Hungarian grammar. Besides general linguistics, he is highly interested in the history of linguistics, more particularly the history of research on Hungarian word order and the history of dependency grammar, with special regard to Sámuel Brassai.
